We will be having our Christmas party as usual. Please send your children in with uniform in the morning but they may bring a change of clothes for the afternoon. They will be given time to change into their party clothes before the party.
We would appreciate any donations of food or squash for the party too. Please make sure there are no nuts or meat products in the food that is sent in so that it can be eaten by everyone.
Many thanks,
Mrs Worth

The Romans
The children seem to really be enjoying our topic about the Romans and Roman life in Britain. They have research to do for homework this week about the homes of Romans. Please feel free to use web sites and books to find out about them and have fun!

Y3 Visit to Manford Way - Litter Awareness Campaign

Y3 have been working very hard on their Litter Awareness Campaign. First the children thought about the problems with litter and discussed how they felt about this. Then they carried out some research for homework about the effects of littering. Following on from this they designed and made huge placards to encourage people not to litter. They designed their own survey questions, and on Thursday 8th July, 3E and 3C went off to Manford Way to raise public awareness of the effects of litter and to carry out a survey. It was a really interesting visit and the public were very helpful in answering the questions honestly. Have a look at our photos to see us in action!

Our Tennis Lesson at Redbridge Sports Centre
On Thursday 29th April, 3E and 3C went along to Redbridge Sports Centre to have a tennis lesson using their inside tennis courts. This followed on from some sessions we received in school from the tennis coaches at Redbridge Sports Centre. We had a great time and worked particularly on developing our forehand pass. Take a look at our photos where we are showing off our new skills!

3E Robots
As you have probably heard we have been very busy making our robots! We started in maths by drawing around various 3D boxes and tubes to make 2D shapes to cover the different body parts. Then we practised our joining techniques to attach the head, arms and legs to the torso. Finally, we used our knowledge of circuits to make the eyes light up - just like in the Iron Man story! We are all very proud of our robots - we worked extremely well in our pairs to design and make them and we all helped each other. It was a great topic!

Y3 Drama Visit
alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5454746009904243410" />
On the 17th March The Redbridge Drama Centre visited our school to carry out workshops with us. The theme was The Iron Man as we are reading this book in class and links with our topic on Robots. We carried out a range of activities - role playing characters from the story and working in groups to create a moving robot! We had a fantastic day! Have a look at the pictures to see where our imaginations took us!

Television News Broadcasts
In Literacy, we have been reading the story, 'Dougal's Deep Sea Diary'. On one of his dives, the main character, Dougal found lots of treasure. We planned our own news broadcasts to report the event. Here is one of our broadcasts.
